From Romania to a new home in the Netherlands

Sabina Munteanu (29) from Romania has been working through AB Midden Nederland for three years now. Her story is one of determination, perseverance, and building a new life together with her husband and two sons.

Sabina shares enthusiastically: “My husband has been working in the Netherlands for seven years. After two years, he called me and said there were opportunities for me as well. Since then, we’ve been here together. Our children, aged 12 and 9, have now also moved to the Netherlands and will start school soon.”

Not only has Sabina reunited her family, but she has also purchased her first home in Biddinghuizen. “We waited eight months for the keys, but it’s a beautiful new-build house. Dorota, my account manager at AB Midden Nederland, helped us with everything. She’s truly the best supervisor ever,” she laughs.

Sabina works as a controller at pluimveeslachterij Van den Bor, where she is responsible for inspecting and cleaning chickens before they are packaged. “My workday starts at 6 a.m., and I usually work four or five days a week. My husband, who works in a different department at the same company, and I drive to work together in a car provided by AB Midden Nederland. We have the same working hours, which is ideal. Everything is really well organized,” she says with satisfaction.

Her tasks have become second nature to her. “You don’t need any official training; I learned everything through colleagues and experience. Now I know exactly what to do, and I love working independently.”

Sabina feels at home at AB Midden Nederland. Not only does she have great colleagues, but she also actively helps recruit new employees. “I’ve already referred several friends and acquaintances from Romania to AB Midden Nederland. It’s nice to see them working here too.”

What does Sabina appreciate most about AB Midden Nederland? “It’s a reliable company. If there are any problems, they always work to find a solution. Account managers like Dorota regularly visit the workplace to make sure everything is running smoothly. It feels like we’re working together as colleagues, not just as separate links in a chain.”

With the holidays approaching, Sabina looks forward to a special moment. “This year, we’ll stay here in our new house, together with the kids,” she says with a smile. “It will be our first Christmas in the Netherlands as a complete family, and I’m really looking forward to it.”
