Introducing Iulia Șoșu – Recruiter at AB Job Service Romania

With the opening of our new location in Romania, we are expanding our services to better support international recruitment. Based in the city of Bacău, AB Job Service Romania focuses on sourcing and selecting motivated candidates for various positions at AB Midden Nederland. The first colleague to start at this new location is Iulia Șoșu. During her introductory visit to the Netherlands, we spoke with her about her background, motivation and ambitions for this next step within our organization.

Local presence in Bacău

Iulia lives in Bacău, just a few steps away from our new office. “It was a complete coincidence”, she says, “but incredibly convenient.” With a broad professional background in banking and the distribution sector, she decided to transition into the world of recruitment. “I enjoy working with people. This role suits me well.”

Trust as the foundation for success

As a recruiter, Iulia focuses on guiding Romanian job seekers who are looking to work in the Netherlands. Personal contact and building trust are central to her approach. “For many people, working abroad is a big step. When someone can explain things and answer questions in their native language, it makes the process significantly more accessible.”

Candidates come from all over Romania, not just from the Bacău region. Most conversations therefore take place by phone, WhatsApp or email. “It’s important for candidates to know that there is a physical location they can turn to, but even remotely, being able to speak with someone in their own language builds immediate recognition, trust and clarity, especially at a time when they’re making a major decision.”

Focus on logistics and warehouse roles

The first vacancies Iulia is recruiting for are primarily in the logistics sector. Roles in distribution centers and warehouses often serve as an accessible starting point. “Once an initial group of Romanian employees is working, others tend to follow. They inform one another and often prefer to live and work together. Since AB Midden Nederland provides transport to and from the workplace, candidates do not need to focus on a specific city. As long as the position and housing are arranged, they are ready to come to the Netherlands.”

Building a solid foundation

Since starting on February 3rd, Iulia has been busy setting up the office, securing the necessary documentation and becoming familiar with our recruitment system, RecruitNow. During her visit to the Netherlands, she received training and visited several work locations. “The beginning was intense. We had to build everything from the ground up. But now the foundation is in place and we are ready to move forward.”

Looking ahead: quality and commitment

When asked what she considers most important in her work, Iulia is clear: “Trust is essential. When people feel safe and well-supported, they stay longer and recommend us to others.” Looking ahead, she hopes to contribute to a sustainable influx of motivated candidates. “There is a lot of interest in working in the Netherlands. My goal is to guide people and carefully select those who are truly motivated and want to make a difference.”
